Rhombus – Our Unique Test and Manufacturing Capabilities
(Joseph Gottlieb, CTO, Tuesday, June 23, 2020)
For nearly any product, the design is only part of the equation – the design also has to be tested against its requirements and manufactured. These are areas where Rhombus Energy Solutions has both unique capabilities and experience. Our manufacturing center is similarly unique. Our high-power EV chargers are built in the USA in Dearborn, Michigan. Our assembly line and our processes are fully ISO compliant. The Rhombus testing facility is not only used for testing our own high-power products – it is also used by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) to test high-power systems of other companies as well. Rhombus also is a leader in the design and manufacturing of high-power AC and DC regenerative test systems, such as our DCLB 750 and AC 125 dynamic test systems. We have utilized these systems and capabilities to build test platforms that range from loads for EV chargers to grid simulators for microgrid systems. These capabilities set Rhombus apart from other EV charger manufacturers, and is why our chargers are the gold standard for high-power EV chargers.
Rhombus chargers are designed from the start for the needs of fleet operators. As a leader in the development and manufacturing of bi-directional, high-power energy systems for both vehicle charging and photovoltaic solar applications, Rhombus is an expert in high-power charging systems for EVs, and especially in the area of V2G charging. We have built hundreds of V2G-capable high-power, high-reliability chargers for a variety of different sizes and classes of EVs.
